About Us

Magna Carta Bookshop opened in February 2005 and is run by Susana and Stefan Parker. In May 2007 we moved to bigger premises, right next door to where we were before. We can now offer more space and comfort so that you can relax while you browse our great selection of new and used books.

We stock all latest bestsellers, classics, Portuguese author's books translated into English, cookbooks, reference books, etc. If we don't have what you're looking for in stock we aim to deliver it within 7 working days.
We also store a great variety of greeting cards (including beautifully handcrafted ones) and gifts.

Newspapers, magazines and book catalogues are available for reading at the shop (and some to take home for free).
